How It Works
When auto-dispatch runs in the Planning module, the Routing Engine evaluates each vehicle’s defined specs—such as maximum loading weight—and matches shipments to vehicles that can accommodate them.
Only vehicles that meet the required specifications are considered for assignment, helping ensure feasible and efficient planning.
Important Note
Vehicle specs are only used by the Routing Engine in the Plans module during auto-dispatch. They influence how vehicles are selected and utilized when shipments are assigned automatically.
If you are assigning shipments manually, these specifications will not have any impact and can be overridden.
Available Vehicle Specs
These specs include:
Length, Width, Height – These measurements refer to the vehicle’s loading compartment (the internal space where shipments are placed), not the external size of the vehicle.
Max Weight – The total weight the vehicle can safely carry at once.
Parcels Capacity – The maximum number of parcels the vehicle can hold.
Pallets Capacity – The maximum number of pallets the vehicle can transport.
Configuring Vehicle Specs for One Vehicle at a Time
When configuring specs for a single vehicle, you define that vehicle’s capacity and loading limits, which are used during planning and auto-dispatch.
Configuring Vehicle Specs in Bulk (Multiple Vehicles)
You can configure specs in bulk to apply the same capacity and loading limits across multiple vehicles at once, ensuring consistency and saving time.
Note:
When multiple vehicles are selected, the spec fields will appear blank. This is intentional and does not indicate missing data. Because vehicles may have different spec configurations, the system cannot display a single value.
Any spec value you enter will override the existing configuration for all selected vehicles.
Spec fields that are left unchanged will retain their current values.
