This article will walk you through the process of adding your drivers to your workspace so that they can start operating on your behalf inside FleetRunnr.
Once added, you will be able to manage their information, assign them to shipments and routes, configure their payout settings, and track their activity while operating.
1. Access the Drivers Page
From your dashboard, select Fleet to access the Fleet module.
In the Fleet module, use the left-side menu and select Drivers to access your drivers page.
2. Add a New Driver
To add a driver to your workspace:
Click the Create Driver button on the top right side of the page.
A window will appear to the right side of your screen allowing you to enter the driver’s basic information.
3. Fill Out Driver Information
Inside the window that appeared after clicking Create Driver, enter the following details linked to the driver you’re creating.
The Required Information
Some information is required in order to create and add your driver. These include their first name, their last name, and their phone number.
First Name
Last Name
Phone Number – Make sure that the selected country code matches the driver’s actual phone number. You can choose the correct country code using the small dropdown button next to the phone number field.
Note: You won’t be able to complete the driver creation process unless all this required information is provided.
The Additional (Optional) Information
You can also add optional information to your driver, such as their Driver Skills and External ID. These options are optional and not required to add the driver to your workspace.
Skills – Driver skills (Pickups, Transfers, Deliveries, Returns) help you define the type of shipments each driver can perform. You can assign one or multiple skills depending on the driver’s role within your operation.
Work Time Limit – Sets the maximum number of hours a driver can be assigned to work per day.
Note: This limit is only relevant as a constraint when using the Routing Engine in the Planning module to auto-assign shipments. Operations supported by manual shipment assignment ignore this setting.
Group – You can use this text field to assign the driver to a specific group of drivers based on your internal operational segmentation (e.g., region, vehicle type, or shift).
External ID – External IDs are optional and are used when integrating FleetRunnr with an external system you already use in your operations. This ID corresponds to the identifier generated by that external system to ensure proper synchronization between both systems.
4. Save and Create Driver
After entering the driver’s information, click the Save button at the bottom right side of your screen. The newly created driver will now appear in your Drivers list on the drivers page.
Additionally, after creating the driver, an invitation SMS will be sent to the phone number you entered. The driver will use this invitation to sign up for their FleetRunnr account and use the FleetRunnr Agents App.
Note: All the information you enter when creating a driver — including personal details, skills, group assignment, and other configurations — can be edited or updated at any time in the future whenever changes are needed.
