Assigning drivers and vehicles to a shift defines who can operate within that shift. This helps control participation and ensures only the intended drivers and vehicles are assigned.
This article explains how to assign drivers and vehicles to shifts.
Where to assign drivers and vehicles to a shift
You can assign drivers and vehicles to a shift in two ways:
During shift creation, before saving the shift
After the shift is created, by clicking the shift on the calendar to open the Edit Shift panel
In both cases, the same assignment options and behavior apply.
To manage assignments, open the Drivers or Vehicles tab in the Create Shift or Edit Shift panel.
Assigning Drivers to a Shift
Driver assignments are managed from the shift’s information panel using the Drivers tab. This tab lets you assign drivers and define who can operate within the shift.
Assigning Vehicles to a Shift
Vehicle assignments are managed from the shift’s information panel using the Vehicles tab, where you assign vehicles and control which can be used during the shift.
Best Practice for Location-Based Shifts
When creating a shift for a specific location (such as a branch or warehouse), it’s best to assign drivers and vehicles from that same location.
This helps keep shifts organized, avoids unintended participation, and makes operations run more smoothly—especially across multiple locations.
