Assigning Drivers to a Coverage

Updated this week

A coverage defines a geographic area where orders are served. Drivers assigned to a coverage are responsible for handling orders within that area, and only they are considered for shipments there.

This article explains how to assign drivers to a coverage.

Important Note

Coverages and their assigned drivers are only enforced when using the planning module for automatic shipment assignment.

When assigning shipments manually, these rules can be overridden, allowing you to assign any driver regardless of coverage.

How to Assign Drivers to a Coverage

Assigning drivers to a coverage defines which drivers are responsible for handling orders within that coverage.

Driver Assignment Visibility

The number next to each coverage indicates how many drivers are assigned to it, meaning how many drivers are responsible for covering that geographic area.

You can click “Edit” next to a coverage, then select the “head” icon beside its name to view the drivers assigned to that coverage.

Additional Notes

  • A driver cannot be assigned to multiple coverages simultaneously.

  • You can also assign drivers while creating the coverage and before saving it.

  • You can update the assigned drivers at any time by adding or removing drivers from a coverage, allowing you to adapt to operational changes whenever needed.
